Rapper 50 Cent has his hands in so many businesses, mostly relating back to his humble beginnings of Music. He has hardly failed at making a hit when it comes to music and some of his business ventures he has hardly failed at making them a hit also. He previously tried to team up with sleek audio but that did not seem to have worked out leaving him the option to them team up with SMS audio to bring us the street by 50 headphones.
At the Gadget Show Live press day why 50 cent himself was present to talk to the press about his headphone range, he sure impressed with the knowledge of his own product, showing he had personal involvement in the making process to make sure that when users use the headphones they get the same audio experience 50 cent has when making those hits.

Design
After purchasing my Samsung Galaxy S3 from Phones4u, I was excited to explore a good headphone to go with my phone and having listened to the quality before at the gadget show live, I was very eager to get down to a closer look from taking it out of the awesome packaging which had so much attention to detail with 50 cent’s autograph on the sleeve.
Taking the headphones out of the huge box it comes in, you will notice the nice matte finishing around the flexible head band and underneath the head band is a soft foam padded side with luxurious looking stitching t match the headphone colour. Just by the ear cups, there are couple of screws I feel are purposely on show to give it a strong and durable look. The foam on the band also makes it really comfortable to wear around your neck and with the material used, it does not irritate the skin.
The ear cups have 40mm Driver; Memory foam cushions making it extremely comfortable to wear and use for long period of time. One thing I also noticed with the ear cups is the rotating ring around it, it allows you to easily rotate the headband while wearing, I am not sure if that was deliberately included but I liked that feature and I often find myself rotating it up and down my head to find a comfortable position. I was not to happy with the plastic headband adjustment mechanism but you can see that it has been included to compliment the rest of the design.
Unlike the Beats by Dre Studio edition, Streets by 50 does not need battery to function or deliver good sound quality which gives it that edge over the Beats.
Sound quality
The sound quality for both Music and calls I found very accurate and you can tell it has been professionally tuned to get the bass and treble out very well to get your head bopping without realizing. In order to make sure my judgement is not clouded by my admiration for the headphones I also took it to a music producer friend of mine, who was also impressed with the product.
The bass was spot on with no crackling even when listening to heavy bass music like lil wayne up up and away song. The passive noise cancellation also meant you can listen to your music without been affected by background noise; it is not the traditional noise cancellation technology so you will not go completely deaf to what is going on around you.
They are very loud also that people around you can ear very clearly what music you are listening to so be careful to be considerate of people around you. I tried different audio sources and was very happy with how old songs with low quality even sounds good with the headphones.
The sound quality is great, wether you are listening to your favourite songs at home using it while working out, maybe you are a DJ or Music Producer or maybe you just enjoy your privacy when playing poker online with an opponent then this headphones serves a great purpose to keep you and your music together.
Conclusion
If you are serious about music then this is for you; it is the perfect alternative to the Beats by Dre and with no need for battery replacements or recharging your battery, you will only need to buy once and that is it. They look awesome with a slick design and will like the part when it is round your neck. Sound quality is excellent and I have no complaint in that area at all. The carrying case feels cheap and should do with a Beats by Dre like case.
