What's This?

HTC has had a rough few months, with the HTC One hitting great success with reviewers but not gaining a huge amount of sales and the rest of the HTC product line starting to shimmer away, as the company starts to focus on less smartphones, it looks a little shallow for the future.

There is one product line that will be continued this year, Butterfly. To some Europeans and the Americans, the HTC Butterfly line may not mean much, considering the flagship device often doesn’t reach anywhere other than Asia.

HTC may decide to continue keeping the Butterfly away from the West, but it is still an exciting product none the less and we have seen the smartphone crop up in many European countries, especially where the HTC One may fail to gain support because of the high price.

The next update to the Butterfly line is an exciting one, with the HTC Butterfly 2 set to sport a 5.2-inch full HD display, the same as the LG G2. Design-wise it will take picks from the HTC One, with the leaked front plates looking the same as the ones on the HTC One.

One exciting feature is the HTC Butterfly 2 will be waterproof, we are not sure what grade yet or if it will be waterproof or just water-resistant. Samsung has been hit hard for the Galaxy S4 Active only being slightly water resistant and crashing after a few dips.

Inside the HTC Butterfly 2 will be the Snapdragon 800, which seems to be the processor of choice for almost any high-end smartphone or tablet right now, with Tegra 4 and Bay Trail yet to make a big splash in the water.

According to the leak, the HTC Butterfly 2 should be coming on October 15 or 17, with the possibility of the HTC One Max alongside.
