What's This?

There is no doubt that Apple fanboys and Android fan boys will always be at it fighting over who copied who; in fact Samsung fans have their own base too where they will fully defend what has been copied by other manufacturers.  It doesn’t end there, Apple themselves are notorious for taking their competitors to court over whats burrowed without permission.  Some of the comparison still makes me think whether its worth investing in a Samsung Galaxy S4 for low price from the likes of the Carphone Warehouse, or shall I try out the iOS 7 with mainly UI changes on an iPhone 5 and spend more?

The word “copy” in fact needs to be used carefully because there is nothing wrong with taking an idea that exists and making it better or in Apple’s case tweak it to make it work seamlessly.  Apple announced some new features on the iOS 7 that will straight away seem familiar to Android users and Galaxy S4 users, almost makes you say, we already had that.

Features like Airdrop that avoids the use of NFC, Apple are proving a point that you do not need to touch devices in order to perform the task. It does come closely to how S Beam works on the Galaxy S4, in fact may be the only difference is that Samsung uses NFC whilst iOS 7 would do it via WiFi or Bluetooth, that would probably drain the already woeful battery life on the iPhone 5, however Galaxy S4 would use NFC which means only when you flick NFC on.

Lockscreen notifications is another new feature; that can be seen on the Galaxy S4 too so in that area they can be similar.  Of course you have option to chose your default browser on Galaxy S4, that is still non existence on iOS7.  iOS 7 also comes with control centre which is where you can quickly turn off some features like WiFi, Airplane mode etc and that already exists on the Galaxy S4 or Android in general.

Your Turn

There are tons of new features than can be compared or seen as burrowed but most are on the Android platform in general, if you know of other features similar on iOS 7 and Galaxy S4, leave a comment below..
