What's This?

A few days after announcing the LG G Pro 2 would be coming to Mobile World Congress, the smartphone has been leaked out in Korea, showing images of the back and side of the device.

The LG G Pro 2 will feature the same volume rocker and power buttons on the back of the device. It looks like LG will offer this feature to all high-end devices, considering it was also on the LG G Flex.

Other than that, there is nothing really significant on the device. The side shows a slightly curved frame, although the screen will be flat. It looks like LG is not sure the flexible display technology is ready for the mainstream.

The LG G Pro 2 will boast a 6-inch full HD display, larger than previous flagship devices. We are not sure about the screen size, 6-inches is still too big to be a mainstream product, in our view.

In this sense, it looks like the LG G Pro 2 is a competitor against the Galaxy Note 3, instead of the Galaxy S5 and HTC One. This means LG has no real smartphone tackling the biggest products on the market, unless the LG G2 is still counted as a competitor.

Internally, the LG G Pro 2 will be a powerhouse, running the Snapdragon 800 (or 805) SoC, alongside 3GB of RAM, LTE-advanced, multiple storage options, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi a/b/g/n/ac and wireless charging.

This will be the mid-way between the LG G2 and G3, the Pro line have always been a little step up from the previous flagship, but no big change in terms of design and feature-set.

The LG G3 should come around the same time the LG G2 did last year, around August. If not, we may see the LG G3 turn up at IFA, to compete against the Galaxy Note 4.
