Sony’s PlayStation 4 is set to be released on November 29th 2013 in Europe, Australia and New Zealand and November 15 in the US and Canada; it is set to cost around £350 for anyone expecting to buy one in the UK and as November draws very close, some images has surfaced online showing production is underway in efforts to get the consoles to people who preordered, shops and potential buys on release day.
Images found on A9VG, a Chinese forum board,  a Chinese worker leaked images of the packaging which the new console will be coming in and also showed some of the boxes in the factory which are filled with PS4 consoles.  The factory’s manager also seems to think they would be shipping over one million consoles from that factory alone which is a huge figure to meet the demand and that is not the only factory that will be shipping out the new PlayStation consoles.
The PS4 is priced at around £80 cheaper than the Xbox One and it would be no surprise that they would be shipping those figures although we have no numbers when it comes to what Microsoft will be shipping at launch.  The new Playstation will come with AMD x86-based 8-core CPU and an enhanced GPU, Blu-ray, DVD and HDMI output, 8GB of GDDR5 RAM, ‘Instant On’ capability
Sony also states that the new PS4 won’t be backwards compatible with old games although users will be able to stream PS3 and older generation games online.  There’s also the PlayStation App” which will enable iPhone, iPad, and Android based smartphones and tablets to become second screen.  Just like Xbox’s camera capabilities, the PlayStation 4 with come with PS4 Eye, a 1280 x 800 camera with some Xbox Kinect style feature.
Some of the games expected at launch for the PS4 include:
- Killzone: Shadowfall,
- Drive Club,
- Infamous 3,
- Deep Down ,
- Watch Dogs ,
- Diablo III ,
- Bungie’s Destiny
Both the Xbox One and the new PlayStation 4 will be released in November, just in time for Christmas, which one did you preorder?
