What's This?

When it comes to digital radios, Pure aren’t new to it at all.  It pride itself in simple yet classy way of listening to your favourite radio station with no interruption from messages, emails and any other applications that might be needing your attention.

The Pure Pop Mini as the name suggests is the smallest of the range announced in August last year and since then rolled out online available for purchase.  The Pure Pop Mini itself is very simple to operate with a decent sized display to see what time it is,  your alarm and what station you’re currently tuned into.

On the top you will find a big round ‘pop’ button that will pop up at a single press; this activates the radio feature so when you are on your way out, you can simple press the large button again to put it into standby mode.  You also have other buttons on the top of the Pure Pop Mini; you have your 5 programmable buttons of which you can assign your top five radio stations to save you from tuning in all the time.  At the back (still on top), you will find the source button to switch between FM and DAB and next to it your tuning buttons and menu button for setting up the time, alarm and more.

On the back of the device, you will find the antenna which can be erected to ensure the best possible signal for your stations.  There’s also a headphone jack for personal listening and an autotune button to help you tune in to your local stations and moving further down is a 5.5v DC microUSB port to power it on.  Other than those buttons and port, the majority of the speaker is covered in a silver grille giving it a nice contrasting finishing.  The large button at the top is also the volume dial and it feels very smooth and calibrated to align with the volume, so you never feel like you are overturning or under-rotating the dial.

When it comes to the sound quality, this isn’t designed to make your room bounce, but designed for the gentle enjoyment, perhaps a bedside accessory for those relaxing times, although it’s very really portable and can be easily plugged in anywhere in the house or if you prefer, you can insert some batteries located underneath the Pop Mini, to make it truly portable.  It is very easy to use and serves its purpose.  If you prefer to have a dedicated DAB/FM radio, then this is for you, otherwise you can still download apps like TuneIn Radio app to do the same job.  It is available to buy now, you can visit Pure’s online store to find out more.
