What's This?

The earliest Sony Xperia Z2 leak came just one week after the Xperia Z1 launch, showing a very slim unibody design and some high-end specs. Today, a similar specs sheet has been revealed on AndroidSAS, claiming a reliable source gave the leakers this information.

We have to give AndroidSAS some credibility, they have been spot on when it comes to previous leaks and have not failed yet when it comes to getting information correct.

The Xperia Z2 is expected to come with a 5.2-inch 2560 x 1440-pixel display, similar to the one going on the Samsung Galaxy S5. We believe internally the Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB of RAM will power the device, but this was not in the leaked report.

What the report also revealed was a 3700mAh battery and the same 20.7MP rear sensor. The battery is a big upgrade and we would not be surprised if it lasted at least two days, without charge.

The 20.7MP rear sensor is already impressive in the Xperia Z1 and one of the best Android camera available. Sony has always had impressive cameras and the Xperia Z2 looks to improve some of the software on the device.

All the previous features will be coming to the Xperia Z2, including the water resistant design and BRAVIA Engine 3. The Sony UI is odd in places and we would like to see some improvements on the software side, making it more in line with the stock version of Android.

The report says the Xperia Z2 will be coming to Mobile World Congress in February. This would be a little early for the new flagship from Sony, but it will be the first to have the new “2K display” and run the Snapdragon 805 processor.

We should take this with a pinch of salt – but with previous leaks and rumors, this looks like the real deal.
