What's This?

The Galaxy S5 is officially available in over 125 markets starting today, as Samsung prepares to push their biggest smartphone into many countries on several carriers, in the hope of grabbing millions of eyeballs.

Most of Asia will be getting the smartphone, along with all of the European countries and North America. Samsung likes to have as many possibilities when it comes to markets, as we have seen with their dominating approach in the past few years.

The Galaxy S4 managed to sell around 100 million units over the span of a year, almost making the Galaxy S the most popular smartphone brand, but it still fell a little slim when competing against the iPhone in 2013.

Even though the Galaxy S4 was received as a rather incremental upgrade to the Galaxy S3 and the same can be said about the Galaxy S5, the S4 still managed to woo over many buyers, who were looking for their next flagship device.

Samsung is hoping the same will happen again, even though the Galaxy S5 comes with a fingerprint sensor and heart-rate sensor, the internals are pretty much the same as last year and even though the design has changed, it still isn’t the high-end aluminium we see on the HTC One or iPhone 5S.

In the UK, EE, O2, Three and Vodafone will be launch carriers for the device, all grabbing the four colors. We expected one carrier to grab an exclusive color, but it appears no UK carriers are as bothered as US carriers when it comes to exclusive colors.

Carphone Warehouse, Phones4U and Amazon.co.uk will all be offering the phone out on and off contract. The off contract price is around £560 and on contract it can go anywhere between £0 to £200, with monthly contracts costing £33 to £75, depending on 4G data sizes.
