What's This?

Samsung made a big jump into the wearables market in 2014, after a rather grim start to the wearables battle with the Galaxy Gear in 2013, not gaining a lot of consumer attention, despite Samsung marketing the smartwatch everywhere.

This year looks brighter for Samsung, the Gear 2 and Gear Neo have some added functionality, a new user interface and changes in design, although some of the hardware changes are questionable, like the home-button.

The Gear Fit was the real showstopper for Samsung at the moment, it is a LCD curved screen in a smart-band form factor and impressed quite a few at Mobile World Congress, where it picked up the award for Best Mobile Device.

Samsung may be preparing to launch their fourth wearable of 2014, the S Circle. It is a rather nice looking device, the same form factor as the Gear Fit but without the curved LCD display.

We believe the S Circle will work the same way the Nike Fuelband and FitBit Flex do, by offering all the information on another user interface, like a Samsung smartphone. The S Circle will be used to keep data stored on the user for fitness.

Knowing Samsung, the S Circle will probably offer some sort of notification alert and we would not be surprised to see some sort of basic interface on the front of the watch, to show notifications and very basic information on fitness.

Samsung has added a heart rate sensor to almost all their devices this year, we may see the South Korean company throw the feature onto the S Circle as well, although it may be less useful with no way to check it on the device live.

The S Circle will be looking to hit a lower price point than the Gear Fit and Gear 2, possibly under $150 or free with a Samsung device.
