What's This?

Skype version 1.0 for  Windows Phone is now available having been promised by Microsoft during the release of the beta version.

Some minor improvements in the 1.0 release, includes

  • Search function
  • Add new contacts feature,
  • Ability to call landlines,
  • An improved launch time,
  •  General bug fixes.

What’s still missing

Ability to receive calls when Skype isn’t running which is something Apple iPhone users boast about; it is due to how  Skype and Windows Phone OS works.

You can download it on Windows App Marketplace, on your Windows Phone running 7.5 and higher.  Due to the size also, it might be worth downloading via Wifi connection.

  1. Background function is available in Tango voice call app. This is the reason why I believe that possibly next version could bring in such function. It would have been great if it could support 256MB devices 🙁

    • I have no doubt they will notice everyone has issue with that and will update on next release. remember it took them a while to release in the first place.
