What's This?

When it comes to data and getting every one online, Three UK always put in 100% and their new MiFi device is another prove they will always work hard at delivering good and reliable data points for it’s customers. Three previously had the E585 Huawei models which was great with decent speeds and also gave us a hint of what’s to come; some may say instead of purchasing this MiFi device, you can use your iPhone as a wireless hotspot however in some cases where you have chosen to either have an iPhone or iPad with WiFi only or some sort of tablet device, then what you needs is this HSPA+ device that is capable of delivering up to 21.1 Mbps download speeds which is great for streaming BBC iPlayer or skygo. It has been redesigned and loaded up with better connection and a new button; compared to the old one, it’s lighter and the new lock button will allow you to view you security key on the move so you don’t have to remember it or carry the old card with you with your key on it however like I said in the video clip, it can be a downside as it might defeat the purpose of calling it a security key if someone else can press it and steal the key, but that can be countered by simply changing the key.

It also comes with a docking stand which will make it look tidy in a public place or even in the office and means you can have it sitting on the desk proudly; it’s something that old one was missing, but I wouldn’t call it an essential part of the product at all. The HSPA+ is new and is been rolled out across the UK and when and where that’s been rolled out is something you cannot map as Three did not provide a map to show the information, but I guess there’s nothing wrong with having a device that’s ahead of it’s time while it’s hot. The micro-SD card slot will allow you to use up to 32GB of storage so you can kill two birds with one stone, for example if you are a student, you can use it for storing your work as well as using it for better connection speeds on campus with up to 5 devices (you could charge your house mates internet usage fees to share yours), with the weight at just 81g, you will never notice the extra weight in your pocket or bag whilst on the go.

The MiFi will last up to 4.5 hours, however when put through the test of using it with spotify, YouTube, uploading this review clip to YouTube, updating twitter and updating gadgetsboy.co.uk, I found it to last just about 5.5 hours and when it left on standby it was still on the next morning. To get started with the device, you will need to purchase your own from Three UK’s website and insert you simcard, switch it one, connect it with your device and if you would like to change the configuration settings simple enter https://3.home from your browser and away you go, welcome to the elite gadgets owner club. If you own one, let me hear you views good or bad, leave me a comment.
