Twitter released a native Windows Store app for Windows 8

With the lack of decent Twitter client available on the Windows platform, Twitter has decided to  released a native Windows Store app for Windows 8.  The news was received with open arms by Windows 8 users and even better for Microsoft as it could be a start of greater things to come when it comes apps availability.

Twitter for Windows 8

Tom Warren  Senior Editor at The Verge and founder of WinRumors posted a picture on Twitter and expressed how happy he was to have  Twitter app and commended the quality of the app “I can’t explain how happy I am to finally have a Twitter app that just works in Snap View on my Surface. Finally.”

Designed with but is also designed with Windows 8 in mind, it is fully integrated in to Windows 8 so that you can tweet from any app and also pin it straight to Live Tiles and also use swipe gestures to activate some of its features.  Some other features includes:

  • Twitter’s Home,
  • Connect,
  • Discover,
  • Me tabs,
  • all the familiar features of Twitter
