What's This?

If you are lucky enough to get hold of the British Gas Safe & Secure system, then you might get to the stage where you have no idea how to keep up with it and maximising the use of it to the fullest. So in this post I will tell you some ways to maximise the use of the Safe & Secure system.
Once you have it all installed and connected up (which I found very easy to do), you can start using the kit. Below are some ways to use it to its fullest potential:

  • Make sure the hub is always connected to a power source. (Although it does have a back up battery in case you experience power failure.) Keeping it connected to a dedicated power socket means no one will tamper with it and you can be rest assured it is always connected and securing your property.
  • Keep it connected to your router and keep router connected. The Hub needs internet connection in order to communicate with commands sent from the myHome app; if it’s not always connected, you will miss out on being able to control it remotely or check other arrays of information available to you.
  • Install the door sensors and the motion sensors in a position out or reach of children but make sure the motion sensors are positioned to sense any movements in the room. Avoid placing them too close in the direction of open windows to avoid your alarm being set off on windy days. Better advice would be to make sure doors and windows are securely shut before leaving your property.
  • British Gas support team are always available for help from setup stage through to your daily use so do not hesitate to contact them if you need to.
