What's This?

Samsung may be preparing to add another size of tablet into the Android market, coinciding with recent news on Apple’s 12.2-inch iPad that should be coming sometime in 2014, reportedly named the iPad Pro.

Rumors have been spreading for some time on Samsung’s next tablet launches, the Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) was launched a few months ago, but we have not seen another Android tablet since that release.

The 12.2-inch Note Pro will be the first tablet from Samsung to sport the new size and may come with some impressive accessories and the same faux leather back seen on the Galaxy Note 10.1.

Samsung will not stop there when it comes to tablet launches, rumor has it the South Korean mobile giant will launch three new Tab tablets, named:

  • Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1
  • Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4
  • Galaxy Tab 3 Lite

The Tab Pro 10.1 will be the obvious leader when it comes to price and performance and the Tab 8.4 will look similar to the iPad Mini and Kindle Fire HDX in specifications, no doubt.

The Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is a pretty exciting concept, we have heard of the Galaxy Note 3 Lite coming soon from Samsung as well – this is a big step into the low-cost tablet arena, battling the original Kindle Fire and other low-cost tablets.

While the Galaxy Note Pro and Tab Pro 10.1 may offer something unique, our guess is they will be the same as most high-end Android tablets – less than impressive when competing with the iPad.

On the other hand, Samsung does have some good ties in with the low-end market, but they need to make devices that can perform well against the Kindle Fire HD and other cheap tablets.
