With so many devices in Acer’s portfolio, they took to New York’s iconic World Trade Centre to showcase their latest laptops, tablets, smartphones, wearable and gaming devices.  As of 2014, Acer came out on top as the number one Chromebook seller, and they are also a worldwide leader in the 2-in-1 computing sector, with great success seen with some of their widely know tablets that are able to act as a laptop and a tablet device.

Acer’s smartphone’s growth has doubles and with 80% growth for commercial PC, we take a look at some of the latest hardware from Acer.  This year, Acer is focusing on not just the hardware specifications and aspects, they are also pushing boundaries when it comes to the design, user experience and the features & benefits to its users.  Together with being first to market with their devices, Acer have a global reach of over 160 countries, admittedly very impressive and sells more than 100K products a day, said Jason Chen, Acer’s CEO.

In 2015, Acer aims to build upon strengths with the markets they are performing well in such as the 2-in-1,  gaming,  phablet and Chromerbook, accelerate smart phone growth with consistency whilst being persistent and expand business boundaries.  Acer’s strategy truly shines through in all the products lined up.

Acer expanded its award-winning design language across the new back- to-school season lineup, including two 2-in-1s – Aspire Switch 10 E and Aspire Switch 10; an 11-inch convertible – Aspire R 11; three new notebooks – Aspire V 15, Aspire E and ES Series – offering strong performance and stylish design for work and play; the new Chromebook 15 with 11.5 hours of battery life, currently the longest in the 15-inch Chromebook segment; and the Iconia Tab 10 tablet for education and Iconia One 8 with advanced touch capability.

All of the new back-to-season Windows-based products ship with Windows 8.1 and are supported by Acer for free Windows 10 upgrade.1 Acer now offers one of the most comprehensive lines of Windows-based products including smartphones, tablets, notebooks, and desktops for a consistent user interface across devices.

Acer demonstrated its strength in delivering technology timely to market by unveiling two industry firsts: a 34-inch curved gaming monitor featuring NVIDIA G-SYNC technology – XR341CKA, and a LED projector with an intelligent ambient light sensor – K138ST.

Acer Aspire R11

The Aspire R 11 sports an 11.6-inch display with a uniquely-designed 360-degree hinge that allows it to convert fluidly between four modes. Up to 8 hours of battery life provides customers with a full-day’s usage on the go.

It’s powered by an Intel Pentium processor and Intel HD graphics, the Aspire R 11 can be configured with up to 8GB of DDR3L system memory and up to 1TB1 hard drive. The Aspire R 11 ships with Windows 8.1 and is supported by Acer for the free upgrade to Windows 10.

Acer Aspire Switch 10 and 11

Acer has expanded its award-winning Switch 10 series 2-in-1 notebook line with two new 10.1-inch models featuring Intel Atom quad core processors. The company also announced that it will be refreshing its Switch 11 series with a new 11.6-inch model leveraging a new hinge design, improved ergonomics and more processing power.

Acer Aspire V15, E Series and ES Series

The Aspire V 15 is adorned with an aluminium top cover imprinted using Acer’s advanced nano- imprint technology to provide a luxurious and uniquely textured metallic finish.

Built with 5th generation Intel Core processors and the latest NVIDIA GeForce 940M series graphics chips for high-powered processing and amazing onscreen performance. With up to 16 GB of memory and 2TB of hard drive storage1 or a fast 1TB Solid State Hybrid Drive (SSHD), you can enjoy fast SSD–like access and large hard drive capacity.

The new Aspire E Series notebooks come in a variety of color options in 14-inch, 15.6-inch, and 17.3-inch displays and features a textile-pattern on the cover.

It also sports the latest Intel processors, NVIDIA GeForce 940M series graphics with dedicated DDR3 VRAM or AMD RadeonTM R8 and R6 dual graphics, up to 16GB RAM and 2TB HDD/ 1TB SSHD storage options, the new Aspire E Series provides solid performance for everyday use.

The newly launched Aspire ES Series provides everything users need for work and play, balancing productivity, portability, and their checkbook at the same time.

Featuring the Acer FlowCurve design and five screen size options ranging in size from 11.6-inch to 17.3-inches. Under the hood it uses the power-efficient Intel Pentium/Celeron processors, up to 8GB RAM, 1TB of hard drive storage and an optional DVD-RW drive, meeting a variety of needs with ultimate value.

The new Acer Chromebook 15 CB3-531 is available at $199.99, features a large 15.6-inch LED-backlit TFT LCD display and 11.5 hours of battery life, the longest in the industry’s 15-inch Chromebook segment.

Acer Iconia One 8

The new Iconia One 8 B1-820, features Acer’s Precision Plus technology, it offers a highly accurate touch and writing experience. The screen’s enhanced accuracy makes it ideal for writing and sketching. Under the hood is an Intel Atom quad core processor and Android 5.0 (Lollipop).

The new Acer Iconia Tab 10 is aimed at the Education sector, this Android 5.0 tablet enables digital education in schools and designed with the classroom environment in mind. It sports a 10-inch full HD Gorilla Glass 4 display,Acer Precision Plus and is powered by an Intel Atom processor. It offers a long battery life and performance to meet students’ demanding needs.

Acer is also working with Google to join the Google Education ecosystem, bringing accessible technology and richer resources to classrooms.

Acer K138ST, U5320W and P5515 Projectors

As if Acer doesn’t already have a comprehensive line up of projectors, they also announced three new projectors, the K138ST which is the world’s first LED projector with an intelligent ambient light sensor, the ultra-short throw U5320W, and the 1080P Full HD P5515 with enhanced keystone correction.

ACER Projector K138ST

Capable of projecting a 100-inch image with only 1.7m distance to the projection surface, the Acer K138ST is an ultra-portable, it’s Smaller than a sheet of A4 or letter-sized paper, and weighing just 0.75kg (1.7lbs). The K138ST has powerful built-in DTS sound audio so it can easily be carried anywhere without requiring additional speakers.

The Acer U5320W can be placed as close as 23cm (9.1- inches) from the projection surface, and the ability to can project up to 100-inch images at a distance of 50cm (19.7-inches). The U5320W’s sports a WXGA resolution and 3,000 lumens brightness with 2x10W speakers.

The P5515 provides a clear viewing experience, projecting 1080P Full HD high-resolution images at up to a 4,000 lumens brightness and has built-in 2x10W speakers. The P5515 supports both vertical and horizontal keystone correction of image distortions up to 30 degrees. It also supports 4 Corner Correction, enabling you to adjust distortions from any corner, so that images can be projected on sloped or asymmetric surfaces.

Amongst other device releases was the new Liquid X2. It offers a compelling camera with a 13MP F1.8 sensor, 64bit octal core processor, a whopping 4000 mAh which is bigger than what other current flagship devices have to offer and it didn’t stop there, the X2 will also enable your to use three SIM cards thank to its Tri-SIM support.

Acer XR341CKA Monitor

For the gamers or pixel addicts, Acer also announced the 34-inch curved 21:9 ultra-wide Acer XR341CKA monitor, the world’s first curved monitor with NVIDIA G-SYNC for an immersive gaming experience with minimal stutters and screen tears. It has a QHD (3440 x 1440) resolution IPS display panel with a 178-degree viewing angle and supports 100% of the sRGB color gamut, delivering accurate color reproduction.

To complete the experience, it features DTS sound, 2x7W speakers, a zero-frame design with a futuristic aluminium base and ambient lighting options.
