What's This?

One of the most confusing changes on the new HTC One has to be the two rear cameras on the device, a lot of different theories have been suggested, but now a new leaked advertisement may have revealed the real reason.

GSM Arena managed to get hold of the Australian carrier Telstra advert, revealing the duo-cameras functionality, along with the other new features coming to the new HTC One, including the name of the device.

It looks like the Duo Camera will offer better depth in photos, even in low-light and add 3D effects to photo and video. HTC also says the two cameras will be great for editing the photo afterwards, without lowering the quality of the image.

The advertisement did not reveal the specs for the two cameras, we could still see one with a 13MP sensor and the other coming with a 4 UltraPixel sensor, the same as the original HTC One.

Cameras have become a major part of a smartphone, a good camera will not exactly sell a ton of smartphones, but the Nokia Lumia 1020 and Xperia Z2 have caught lots of attention with their great sensors.

If the new HTC One can offer something new on the camera front for users, it may draw in even more fans, something the Taiwanese company definitely need if they want to survive 2014 at the top of the Android charts.

BoomSound is another big feature coming to the new HTC One, the clear audio from Beats was a big feature last year and it looks like the front-facing speakers will be returning to this year’s HTC One.

Sense 6.0 will be updated onto the new HTC One, offering new features like double-tapping the screen to unlock the smartphone, similar to LG’s Knock On feature. BlinkFeed and Zoe have also reportedly been updated, offering more functionality than before.

The HTC One will be announced on March 25 in London, check back at GadgetsBoy for more news.
