What's This?

Google may have sunk its own ship with the official KitKat 4.4 launch video, when one employee decided to take a photo on an unknown LG Nexus device, pointing to the new version being internally tested.

The video has been taken down, leading to further speculation on if this could be the LG Nexus 5. It seems pretty likely, with the Nexus print on the back, large camera sensor and 5-inch display.

A new FCC filing showing what appears to be the new LG Nexus 5 backs up our claim, showing 7-band LTE radios fit to work with AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, Snapdragon 800 CPU, 5-inch 1080p display and a small 2300mAh battery.

The FCC filing shows some new firmware updates with Key Lime Pie hints – we believe this will be changed to KitKat, Android 4.4. Google is likely to announce the new smartphone with the next version of Android.

With the recent video leak, it looks like Google will add a large sensor to the smartphone, possibly the 10MP sensor they added to the Moto X. This will come with a LG G2 design, with an almost bezel-less design.

The LG G2 is also likely to come with some of Google’s favourite features, including NFC for wireless charging and dual-WiFi a/b/g/n/ac. The LG Nexus 5 is bound to be fitted with all sorts of features from the Motorola/Google software line, including Touchless Control.
