What's This?

Technology is my passion and been able to integrate them in everything that I do is a challenge sometimes. I like the feeling of been able to use my laptop in the house, iPad in the office but as soon as I get inside my car, there is less integration as I have to stay in the constraint of what the car manufacturer has included already. In some cases if I were to purchase a new vehicle from the likes of Mercedes I would have to pay a hefty sum of money to get extra kit installed just to communicate with my iPhone.

The AppRadio is a car headunit that places your smartphone content right where you can see, touch and control it – on a large, full-colour touchscreen.  SPH-DA100 is compatible with iPhone 4 / 4S running iOS5 and a range of Android 2.3 phones that feature an MHL or HDMI port. It is currently not compatible with Android 4.1 devices. An update is being prepared and will be made available soon.

Pioneer are no strangers in the in-car entertainment business and from my first car, I have always had Pioneer sound systems installed because of the quality I get in exchange for my money. I recently looked into the AppRadio with the thought that I would like to connect my iPhone in a better way other than just using auxiliary cable and playing music from my my iPhone or via Bluetooth.

The AppRadio solves so many issues for me, I can do away with a separate satnav system like TomTom because I can now extend my current satnav app onto the app radio screen. Bare in mind it is advised that you get it installed by a professionally so that it works/functions as it is supposed to. The AppRadio system for me is an extension of my iPhone in my car, I can make and receive phone calls, check my schedule, listen to radio, use some of my installed apps on the bigger screen and thanks to the capacitive touchscreen, it is ever to easy and convenient to use on daily basis. check out the video below for a closer look:
