What's This?

Samsung has finally revealed the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, their newest flagship Android tablet to take on the rumored iPad Pro in the 12-inch arena, along with some Windows 8 tablets of the same size.

We have heard about the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 for a while now, ever since the first rumors of Samsung developing a larger Android tablet started making their rounds the Note Pro moniker has been tossed about.

On the design front the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 comes with the same faux leather back and plastic front, with faux metal on the sides. This looks to be the design aesthetic for all Samsung’s high-end tablets this year.

Specs on the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 make it deserve the ‘Pro’ name, with an incredible 12.2-inch 2,560 x 1,600-pixel display, 1.9GHz octa-core processor (or an LTE version with Snapdragon 800), 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and an incredible 9500mAh battery.

The battery life is very sporting and we really want to see how long the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 lasts without charge, hopefully more than a day, since Samsung is targeting this at business, to take on the Surface 2 Pro.

On the software side, the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 comes running Android KitKat 4.4 alongside TouchWiz UI for the larger screen, Samsung has made some changes to their UI, to compliment the extra-inches of real-estate. They have also added a new window called Magazine UX, allowing users to add different tiled apps on their home-screen.

In the press release for the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 there is a line that says owners will get around $700 worth of free pre-paid subscription content, including subscriptions to Evernote, Dropbox, Office for Android and other productivity applications.

Samsung has said they will start shipping the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 in Q1 2014, alongside their other three tablets revealed at CES. We expect the price to be somewhere around $600 – 900, depending on if Samsung want to go up against the iPad Pro or against the Surface 2 Pro.
