What's This?

So you have some speakers already, especially ones that sound great, but you have no way to transform them into something you can control from the palm of you hand no matter where you are in the room and the only other option is to ditch your speakers and invest in something like Sonos, but why do that if you can just spend £70 on the Kitsound Link Multi-Room Adaptor?

The call it an adaptor, but the device itself is about the size of Apple TV, so although small, it’s no adaptor in the sense of something like Google chrome.  It’s very simple to setup with the majority of the setup process taking place using the app available on the iOS store.  So what does it actually do?

The KitSound Link can transform any speaker that has an audio input into a smart speaker. When you combine them together, each of them connects to your Wi-Fi simply and quickly, with one simple touch being enough to connect to your home wireless network. They connect all of your speakers together as long as each one has a KitSound Link, making your home musically smart.

You will need to download the free AllPlay Jukebox app for iOS or Android and using one of the supported streaming services such as Spotify, Napster, Rhapsody, or Tune in radio and any built-in music app and tunes already stored on your smart device, you can use the app to play your music wirelessly.  If you prefer to use your PC or NAS, you can do that too, or even play directly from your PC to the Link.

The KitSound Link supports DNLA and AllJoyn so you can connect to the other smart devices in your home; a wide range of audio file formats including High Resolution Audio; and is compatible with any speaker that has a line in or optical cable. Each one of these different technologies brings a wealth of opportunities to explore your music in a totally new way.

The app is easy to use, you can get setup in no longer than five minutes with no need to even read the manual.  The only problem I have with it is having support for more music services, otherwise it’s reasonably price and it just works.
