What's This?

This is a question many of us ask ourselves at some point, and of course the answer depends on your personal preference. Phones are getting more and more gadgets added to them every month – cameras, GPS, lights, radios, movie players – the list goes on and on. There are some downsides to this, and the cost is the barrier to most for Smartphone ownership. Other people may want a simple phone that they can easily make calls with. However, if you are into your gadgets then the answer is simple: yes you do need a Smartphone. They are the ultimate companion for any Tech Geek, and this article will explain why.

Smartphones were once out of the reach of many people who just couldn’t justify spending £30 or more a month on an expensive toy. Although the top of the range Android and the iPhones handsets are still relatively pricy, you can now get a simpler Smartphone with internet access and all of the apps for a quarter of the monthly cost. These phone often comes free with the deal helping to ensure costs stay right down. It is worth checking comparison sites for the latest mobile deals to help you find the right Smartphone at a price that suits you.

One of the features that you soon not be able to live without is Google Maps, which will help ensure you never get lost again! If you are in the middle of a strange city then you will no longer have to spend ages searching through the A to Z. Google maps will instantly pinpoint your location and find the best route to any destination of your choice. It can also be used as a Sat Nav, but will only work as long as you have Internet access; however there are Sat Nav apps available to download that are more reliable and will work offline.

If you are a social network fiend then you will have no choice but to get a Smartphone. As we share more and more of our experiences online we find ourselves wanting to do it instantly, and so it is helpful that every social network has an app for every Smartphone platform! It also means that you can keep up to date on what your friends are up to every minute of the day.

As the Internet become more and more important in our daily lives, having a constant connection is essential for many. If you work a lot and travel a lot then you can keep on top of your emails. If you are bored on the train then you can catch up on the latest news and you can also check plane times and traffic reports. Smartphones are a must for anybody in the twenty-first century and price should no longer be an excuse!
