What's This?

Playing golf for learners and semi-pros alike can still prove to be difficult or challenging at times. With all the advancements in mobile technology, it was just a matter of time before we saw a gadget like Zepp golf swing analyser, aimed to help you improve your swinging skills. Using it will not swing for you fear not, but it will analyse them, keep a trend analysis of how well you are doing over time and can even use one of the pro golfers as a target level for you to keep aiming to reach.

Measuring just 2CM square and 1CM wide with a small weight of 6.3 grams, it clips to the back of your glove without adding extra weight to your hands and it doesn’t distract you away from what you would normally do on your golfing session. It is loaded with sensors that will monitor your swinging activity and send the reports back to your iOS app for analysis, playback and using those data, you will be able to improve your skills on the golf course.

The Swing Analyser collects numerous amounts of data and some of them can be confusing if you are not used to Golfing buzzwords, however once, you are up to speed, it’s very easy. You can also control the device using voice commands, although I still feel that it was a lot better when you had someone with you to help analyse the data as you go along. It’s also more fun looking at the data with someone else.

Data available as you play along includes the tempo of your swing, club speed, your score, hand speed, backswing and downswing, just to mention a few. Those data are collected over the period of your session and at the end you can see how many swings taken, how many clubs used and average or overall data of how well you performed. I found the data very useful, and if taken serious, you can use the trend scores to improve or see if you are improving.

Overall, the Zepp Golf Swing Analyser is a great piece of kit to have if you want to take your golfing serious or want to take it to the next level. You can even brag about your scores to your friends or have a healthy competition with friends as you can create multiple user accounts. Although it’s pricey for the casual golfer, but golf accessories can be pricey in general. It is not a cheap sport or hubby to embark on.  Battery life is also good and will last a session before needing to recharge it again, I was charging it in the car on the way back from my session.
