What's This?

BlackBerry has had a good start with BB10, with the Z10 and Q10 bringing in about five million sales so far. This is nothing compared to Samsung or HTC, who doubled this with the Galaxy S4 in a month, but it is keeping BlackBerry in the mobile business.

According to Taiwanese supply chain sources, BlackBerry is readying up production for another two to three quarters on three to four new products, working with Taiwan chip makers Wistron, Silitech Technology and Ichia Technologies.

While the two major product releases have already been made by BlackBerry, there is still a big gap to fill in the budget and mid-range market, with the Z10 and Q10 hitting high price ranges.

BlackBerry is currently selling about one to two million phones per month, an impressive amount but one overshadowed by Samsung and Apple, who easily sell triple with one flagship device.

To keep the BlackBerry franchise going, they need the budget end market in Asia, Europe and Latin America to keep purchases their smartphones, instead of cheap Android alternatives.

Two smartphones will be budget end to fit with the BlackBerry Q5 and we believe the other two will be mid range devices, one touchscreen and one keyboard with touchscreen.
