While it’s mostly known for its Galaxy smartphones and countless home appliances, Samsung’s efforts towards gaming hardware and software has pretty much remained a constant part of the company’s operations. That being said, Samsung recently announced that it’s bringing its mobile cloud gaming platform to Europe, starting with a beta program in the United Kingdom and Germany. The service allows users to instantly stream games on their Galaxy phones and tablets without having to download them.

Seline Sangsook Han, Executive Vice President of the Service Business Team at Samsung’s Mobile eXperience Business, noted the platform’s success in North America, commenting: “Since then, it has quickly become a preferred distribution channel for our partners to reach millions of Galaxy device owners,” Han said. “Now we’re expanding that access to Europe.”

The company is also working on bringing new updates to its Mobile Gaming Hub, which aims to be a more comprehensive gaming app for Galaxy devices, with new games and social features planned for later this year. To help game developers reach new players, Samsung says that it has partnered with Moloco, a company that uses an AI-powered advertising platform to boost user acquisition for mobile games.
Additionally, Samsung also recently unveiled its latest lineup of Odyssey G7-series gaming monitors at Gamescom, allowing attendees to see the new displays in the flesh. The G7 monitors come in two distinct sizes and resolutions—the first model is a 37-inch 4K UHD monitor with a 16:9 aspect ratio, while the second is a larger 40-inch Wide UHD monitor, which packs a sharp 5K2K resolution and a 21:9 aspect ratio. Both monitors feature VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification with a brightness of 350 nits. They also support multitasking with Picture-by-Picture (PBP) and Picture-in-Picture (PIP) modes.

The new Odyssey G7 monitors are also equipped with HDR10+ Gaming and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, with Samsung promising a smooth and visually-immersive user experience. For connectivity, they include a DisplayPort 1.4 and a pair of HDMI 2.1 ports. The monitors also feature an ergonomic design with a height-adjustable stand that offers tilt and swivel capabilities. Currently available in Korea and the United States, Samsung has announced a scheduled release for the Odyssey G7 monitors in Europe for September.
