What's This?

Acer’s Predator and Nitro range of computers and gear have always been aimed towards gamers looking to get the most out of their hardware, and its newest gaming monitors are no exception. Announced earlier today, the Nitro XZ452CU V and the Predator X34 V monitors are great new options for folks looking to upgrade their desktop and gaming display setup.

Nitro XZ452CU V Monitor

First up is the Nitro XZ452CU V, a gaming monitor with a rather large 44.5-inch screen (outsizing most TVs) and features 1500R curvature, which gives users a more visually-appealing and immersive gaming experience. The monitor features an ultrawide 32:9 (5120×1440) aspect ratio that allows for effective multitasking, and even comes with high refresh rate speeds of up to 165Hz, as well as AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for reduced screen tearing and input lag, which makes for ideal gaming sessions.

The monitor can also handle colours and image details with its 90% DCI-P3 and VESA Display HDR 400 support. The display is also ideal for lengthy gaming sessions thanks to the onboard BlueLightShield Pro, which greatly reduces flickering, low-dimming, and features ComfyView technologies as well as Eyesafe 2.0 certification. The monitor is also flexible to suit different desk setups thanks to Acer’s Ergostand, that lets users adjust the screen’s positioning as needed. The monitor also comes with a three-in-one USB Type-C port that can support displays, data transfer and device charging, all via a single cable. RJ45 allows for a secure, wired connection and the USB-B functions as a built-in KVM switch for instant shifting.

Predator X34 V Monitor

Up next is the Predator X34 V monitor, which Acer says is more aimed towards professional gamers. Described by the company as a “future-proof” monitor, the Predator X34 V comes with an OLED panel which features a UWQHD (3440×1440) resolution, VESA DisplayHDR TrueBlack 400 and DCI-P3 99% colour gamut which provides better colour quality and viewing during gaming. Additionally, the monitor also features a 1800R curvature and 21:9 aspect ratio, which makes for wider viewing angles.

The Predator X34 V measures 34-inches, and boasts a high 175 Hz refresh rate and 0.1 ms response time (G to G) for fluid, unbroken sessions with drastically reduced ghosting. There’s also support for AMD FreeSync Premium and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) functionality, so users need not put up with visual tearing during titles with high-speed imagery. As with the Nitro XZ452CU V, it also packs features for eye comfort including BlueLightShield Pro, Flickerless, Low-dimming, ComfyView and Eyesafe 2.0 certification.

As for price and availability, the Nitro X2452CU will be available in North America in Q4 2023, starting at USD 999.99 and in EMEA in Q4 2023, at EUR 1,099. Meanwhile, the Predator X34 V will be available in North America in Q4 2023, starting at USD 1,299.99 and in EMEA in Q4 2023, starting at EUR 1,299.
