What's This?

We’ve put together a list of must-have vlogging accessories to use with the Sony ZV-E1 to level up your vlogging game.

Sony recently announced its newest ZV-E1, a camera geared toward content creation and production. In terms of hardware, the new camera doesn’t hold back and comes packed with a ton of impressive specs, such as a 35mm full-frame image sensor for video, Sony’s latest BIONZ XR image processing engine which makes heavy use of AI, and support for a ton of neat-looking photo and video features.

We have little doubt that the Sony ZV-E1 will be a hit with veteran content creators, as well as photographers and videographers looking to add it to their gear collection. With that being said though, you might be a budding creator who’s looking forward to getting started with the ZV-E1, and maybe you’re curious as to what kind of gear you should get along with your new camera. We’ve put together this quick little list of gear that will go great with your new ZV-E1. Let’s take a look!

DJI RS 3 Mini

One of the most useful pieces of gear a content creator can get for their camera is a gimbal, as it allows for a lot more flexibility during filming and lets you take more dynamic shots. As such DJI’s RS Mini 3 is a portable stabilizer that packs strong motors and can support up to 4.4 lbs of weight for different camera and lens configurations. There’s even Bluetooth Shutter Control, and native vertical shooting for social media video formats.

Manfrotto PIXI Evo 2

For something a bit simpler, Manfrotto’s PIXI Evo 2 tripod is a compact solution for shooting on the go. The aluminum-infused build works both in handheld as well as stationary positions. The tripod can also support devices up to 5.5 lbs of weight and comes with two different leg angles that can also be adjusted to extend for better angles.

Neewer F100 External Monitor

While the Sony ZV-E1 does come with a built-in monitor, it’s a bit small especially if you’re keeping an eye out while shooting a-roll footage and such. Neewer’s F100 External Monitor comes with a 7-inch IPS display with an HD resolution, a sleek 17mm design, and even comes with a sunshade that keeps away glare. There are built-in features which include Peaking Focus Assist, Check Field, Pixel to Pixel, Center Marker, Safe Frames, Image Flip, Image Freeze, and Custom Color Temperature. There’s 2600 mAh battery as well, which should last most filming sessions.

RODE VideoMic NTG

RODE’s VideoMic NTG is a great way to improve audio capture on your camera, as it comes with a “shotgun” style placement, which has more range in terms of audio pickup. It comes with a flexible design, digital switching that comes with a high-pass filter, -20dB pad, a high-frequency boost, a safety channel, and even variable gain control. Additionally, there’s also a 3.5mm jack that doubles as a headphone output for audio monitoring.

AnkerWork M650 Wireless Lavalier Microphone

Anker’s M650 Lavalier Microphone is another great audio solution, which is ideal for interviews and a-roll production. The M650 comes with noise cancellation, replaceable colour plates that connect magnetically, dual-lossless pickup, and up to 200 meters of connectivity. The microphone comes with an embedded touchscreen that lets users customize their settings. It’s also easy to pair, as well as lightning and USB connections. There’s also up to 15 hours of battery life for more than half a day of usage.
