What's This?

Having used the British Gas Safe & Secure system now for a couple of months or so, I have been itching to write about why it is one of the best if not the most advanced, yet easy to use system to secure your property and keep you alerted.

The current, traditional way of securing our homes at the moment is a simple code system with a siren outside the property; so I ask myself what are the downsides to that and why should or would any one switch over to the Safe & Secure system?

  • If your electric gets cut off for whatever reason, then what would happen to the security system?
  • If your neighbours are away or you do not get along with them or maybe you do not trust them what do you do when there is a burglary?
  • How does your neighbour differentiate between a real burglar and a system malfunction?
  • What happens if you forget the code?

Amongst other series of questions that began to pop up in my thoughts after using the Safe & Secure system, the ones above are the ones that everyone should be able to relate to when using a traditional home security system.

The Safe & Secure system is advanced and will solve most of those issues; using your key fob to activate and deactivate the system you simply don’t need to remember any codes or worry about how many seconds left before you rush out without activating your alarm system. If you are tech savvy like me, you would get it hooked up to your smart phone and monitor things from there.

If you forget to put your alarm on, you can set it remotely and if your alarm goes off you will receive an email, text message and the app would also let you know. You can then phone someone you trust to check up on your property and make sure it is secure, better yet, you can give them a spare key fob so they can help out too while you are away.

If your electric gets cut off, you ran out of juice on your card or maybe something went wrong on the grid, fear not, the hub has a backup battery for a few hours to keep your property security intact. You literally have no reason to worry at all.

In conclusion they’re some of the ways in which the Safe & Secure system can improve your home security with less hassle and without losing the way our houses are currently secured. I have even gone as far as to using it to protect individual areas to prevent the kids access. When they open the junk food cupboard I secured during the late hours of the night, I was alerted and they were caught :). It works a treat!

Stay tuned for more updates.
