What's This?

Garmin’s massive selection of sports-oriented smartwatches features some of the best hardware on the market, and the company recently added a new entry with the Venu 4—a new premium smartwatch, the Venu 4 packs a ton of functionality in addition to a somewhat leaner look compared to the company’s other lines like the Instinct and Fenix watches, for example. It’s a bit on the expensive side priced at $549 but it does come with new tricks up its sleeve, all of which are designed towards keeping an eye on your health.

Available in both 41mm and 45mm sizes (with a wide range of colours to boot), the Venu 4 features a sleek-looking design that’s more in line with premium timepieces, instead of the rugged aesthetic on its siblings. It also comes with a built-in speaker, microphone, and even an LED flashlight, the latter of which is a bit uncommon to see on most other smartwatches. It’s compatible with both Android and iOS as well, making it a bit more versatile in terms of software support.

Like other Garmin smartwatches, a key highlight of the Venu 4 is its suite of health-focused software, like the new “Health Status” feature which can continuously track vital metrics like heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), and skin temperature for early warnings of potential stress or illness. Additionally, the “Lifestyle Logging” tool allows users to record daily factors such as caffeine and alcohol intake to observe their impact on sleep quality, stress levels, and HRV.

Garmin says that it’s also worked on the personalized training experience with the Venu 4, which can give users “Personalized Workouts” with daily suggestions for over 25 activities, which in turn adapt based on the user’s activity history, sleep patterns, and recovery status. The Venu 4 also includes a “Spoken” Watch Face that can announce the time and health data, along with a Colour Filter feature that offers different display options for users with colour blindness.

The Garmin Venu 4 will be available for purchase starting on September 22, 2025, with a retail price beginning at $549.99; for buyers in the UK, it starts at £469.99. Given its price, it does make it a competitor to Apple’s new Watch Series 11, which does come with its own set of newly-added features.
