What's This?

Google is preparing to launch the Nexus 5 sometime today and multiple sources have backed up this claim. Reports are still spilling out about the Nexus 5, despite us knowing pretty much everything about the device.

The release date has been pushed back since mid-October, when Google decided not to announce the Nexus 5 on October 15. We then thought the phone would be coming on October 24 at the Google Play event, but it was a no show there as well, pushing us to October 31.

We have also seen a leak just today showing the Nexus 10 with Android 4.4, the press release has been taken down since, but it shows Google has already send press devices out to be reviewed.

The announcement should be a little late in the day for anyone in the UK. We doubt Google is going to have a morning conference or any conference at all, they may announce the Nexus 5 on their Google+ page or have press releases do the job.

The specs on the Nexus 5 been well known for quite some time, it will come with the Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16/32GB of internal storage, 2400mAh battery and 8MP OIS camera.

This is all fine and dandy and we may even see a premium 32GB Nexus 5 with a 3000mAh battery, for users who want a full day of usage before putting the smartphone on charge.

We expect Google will announce the Nexus 5 alongside the Nexus 10 and the newest version of Android, KitKat 4.4. There may be some added goodies, including an Android game console similar to the Ouya.
