What's This?

I was suppose to attend the #ThreeMiFi Launch Event yesterday, however due to other duties I had to attend to, I could’t be there but I had no doubt the event was going to be amazing and I was going to be missing out, but thanks to Three, they have managed to make my day with this white version of the E586, because now I can add to the collection of white gadgets I own. Read the press release below:

Seasonal MiFi in White– coming soon to Three.

Ready for the winter, Three’s new high speed Mobile Wi-Fi device –will soon be available in a high gloss white design.
Now that geek is chic, rucksacks are set to overflow with tablets, laptops, e-readers and gaming gadgets. To keep them online all the time, Three’s award winning MiFi offers a portable Wi-Fi hotspot which lets up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices connect securely to the internet at once, without the fuss of cables and wires. Smaller than most phones, the MiFi can slip easily into a bag or pocket and be on hand to connect you to the internet at the touch of a button.
The new MiFi hasn’t just had a winter white makeover, it also now features next generation HSPA+ mobile broadband technology, meaning that you can download videos, browse pictures, tweet and surf the web around 50%* faster than before.

The MiFi screen displays key information like the amount of data used, speed of the connection and length of browsing time, as well as a new look dashboard for viewing SMS and changing settings. In addition, the Wi-Fi user name and password can be seen on screen for fast pairing with new gadgets.

David Kerrigan, Head of Mobile Broadband at Three commented: “We’re delighted to be able to offer our customers a seasonal twist on our great new MiFi. With groundbreaking technology inside, users can also enjoy the full benefit of Three’s award winning mobile broadband network.**”
The new MiFi in white, built by Huawei, will be available in store and online in the coming weeks.

Key features:
• New white design
• Charging cradle
• 21.1 Mbps technical standard Download (HSPA+ )
• 5.76 Mbps technical standard Uplink (HSPA+)
• Internal Memory slot for micro SD card that supports up to 32GB
• Approximately 4.5 hours battery life

*This result was independently tested by Uswitch. These figures are also set to increase even further as Three ramps up its upgrade programme and rolls out the HSPA+ 21.1Mbps standard across its high-speed 3G network. Three is aiming to have 80% of its network upgraded to HSPA+ by the end of this year, with the rest following soon afterwards.

** Three is the UK market leader for mobile broadband, and came first in the five most recent YouGov DongleTrack surveys of Mobile Broadband customers (July 2010, October 2010, January 2011, April 2011, July 2011).
