What's This?

Foldable smartphones are all the rage right now – we’ve seen brand after brand reveal their own take on the relatively-new form factor, each with their own set of exclusive hardware and software features. With that said, OPPO has finally revealed the Find N2, and the Find N2 Flip, two new additions to the Chinese manufacturer’s 2022 smartphone lineup. The Find N2 succeeds OPPO’s first-generation Find N, while the N2 flip is the first flip-styled foldable from the brand.

Billy Zhang, President of OPPO Overseas Sales and Services states:

“Foldable smartphones are one of the most important product strategies of OPPO. With the Find N2 and our first flip-style device, the Find N2 Flip, OPPO is confidently competing in this growing segment of the smartphone market. We will continue to invest in foldables and look forward to bringing them to more users around the world.”

Oppo Find N2

The Find N2 builds on its predecessors design by introducing a lighter build at 233g, and measuring just 14.6mm when closed, making it easy for day-today handling. It also features an improvement on the first-generation Flexion Hinge – for the Find N2, OPPO’s second-generation Flexion Hinge uses carbon fibre and high-strength alloy used in the aviation industry, and is built from 100 components. The new design also reduces the visibility of the crease, and OPPO says that it is 67% narrower for a more immersive user experience.

OPPO has also used Carbon fibre in designing the Find N2’s inner display, allowing it to be folded up to 400,000 times while still remaining durable. It also comes with a 120Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 1550 nits, and measures at 7.1-inches. On the other hand, the 5.54-inch external display can reach 1350 nits of peak brightness, smaller bezels, and a 120Hz refresh rate similar to the main displays.

It’s also packed with impressive hardware, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform, a large 4520mAh battery and support for 67W SUPERVOOC charging. It also comes with powerful imaging specs thanks to a brand-new triple camera system with a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP RGBW 2x telephoto lens.

The Find N2’s camera set-up comes with Hasselblad tuning and OPPO’s MariSilicon X dedicated imaging NPU, plus FlexForm capture for versatile shooting experiences and studio-grade selfies.

OPPO Find N2 Flip

OPPO has also launched the Find N2 Flip, its first flip-style foldable. The company says that its design comes with some improvements as compared to its competitors, such as the largest cover screen on any flip phone, allowing for more information to be displayed, better all-day battery life with a 4300 mAh battery, better performance thanks to the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ chipset, as well as an improved Flexion Hinge.

Android 13 and ColorOS

The OPPO Find N2 runs on a version of ColorOS 13, specifically programmed for seamless operation with foldable devices. It features an improved split-screen experience, including the two-finger split screen gesture introduced on the Find N last year. For example, a two-finger swipe down the middle of the inner screen quickly and easily activates a split-screen view that allows for better multitasking on the large display.

OPPO has also created “FlexForm Space” for the Find N2, which allows users to flex their devices to activate FlexForm Space, a desktop-like interface where they can manage recently used apps, movies and music. All of this runs on Android 13, meaning that you get the latest and greatest software features that Google’s mobile operating system has to offer.

At the moment, OPPO fans will have to wait a bit more for information regarding global release, availability, and pricing for the two devices. With all that said though, the Find N2 and Find N2 Flip are looking to be two of the most impressive Android devices from OPPO for 2022.
