If you’re wondering why there’s such a big fuss with this latest launch, it’s because Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X arm chips are touted as a powerhouse competitor to Apple’s M-series chipsets.

With that being said, several other PC manufacturers likewise unveiled their newest Snapdragon X-powered laptops around the same time – big names such as ASUS, Dell, HP, and Acer (to name a few) are banking on Qualcomm’s arm technology to power their latest portable PCs. One such example is the Acer Swift 14 AI, which packs some impressive hardware in addition to the Snapdragon chip beating inside. Available for EUR 1,499 in EMEA regions this June, you might be curious as to what else the Swift 14 AI comes with – let’s take a look!

Acer Swift 14 AI: Display and External Hardware

Let’s start with what is undoubtedly the first thing you’ll see when opening up the laptop. The Acer Swift 14 AI packs a 14.5-inch WQXGA (2560×1600) IPS screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. This offers smooth visuals and vibrant colours with 100% sRGB colour gamut coverage, and Acer adds that it’s designed to reduce user eye strain, thanks to TÜV Rheinland Eyesafe Certification 2.0, and even comes with a touchscreen configuration. There’s also a 180-degree hinge that should be flexible enough for different use cases.

As with most modern laptops these days, the Swift 14 AI comes with a rather sleek look to it. The device features a thin-and-light chassis, which according to Acer is crafted with aluminium and utilizes PCR plastic for sustainability. Additionally, the laptop also features a unique AI icon and an Activity Indicator that lights up on the touchpad when the device or Copilot+ is active. The laptop also comes with a 1440p QHD IR webcam and triple microphone array for video conferencing purposes.

Acer Swift 14 AI: Internal Specs and Software

As mentioned earlier, the Swift 14 AI runs on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon X series chips, with models available in either the Elite or Plus processors. In addition to this, the laptop also comes pre-loaded with on-device AI processing, made possible with one of the world’s fastest laptop NPUs (45 TOPS). There’s also a maxed-out version which offers up to 32GB of RAM, as well as up to 1TB of SSD storage for demanding workloads and intensive usage scenarios. For wireless connectivity, there’s Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 onboard for high speeds and low latency, while two USB Type-C and two USB 3.2 Type-A ports handle wired physical connections.
