What's This?

After the successful launch of the the Moto G, the best budget smart phone on the market today, Motorola seeks to continue the home run with the launch of the Moto X. The Moto X is not cheaper than the Nexus 5 and it doesn’t pack as much specifications as the Nexus 5, however it’s a device built with some new features that is yet to be seen on any Android device.

The Nexus is will be available in stores from the 1st of February, it features a 4.7′ 720 HD Amoled display and that is at 316 PPI; it runs on a 1.7 GHZ Qualcomm snapdragon s4 Dual-core processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 320 GPU. The battery is not the biggest with just 2200 mAh battery, it is more than that of June iPhone 5s but less than what the new Xperia Z1 is packing.

The three main features that sets it apart from other Android smartphone out there are Active display which allows portion of the screen to illuminate with display important notifications such as missed call, messages etc, you get touch less control which allows you to say some commands to use the Moto X without touching it and finally the ability to quickly capture images by quickly twisting your wrist twice and it ready to take photos.

Moto X has a solid build that you almost forget that it is not enclosed in metal; it also features. 10 MP primary camera with Clear Pixel Technology which in theory should let in more light that your regular sensor. The camera can shoot full 1080P videos at 30fps and the secondary camera is 2MP which can also shoot full HD videos. You also get a new camera interface which gives users features such as HDR and Panoramic photography.

You only get 16GB of internal storage with no support for microSD expansion however Google gives you 2 years 50GB cloud storage with Google Drive. It is available on Black or White with no news on Motor Maker, the opportunity to customise the Moto X.

It will be available on 02, Phones4U, CarphoneWarehouse and Amazon in Black with the White version been exclusive to Phones4U at launch.
