What's This?

Nokia has just sent out press invites for a New York event on July 11, the invite has little information regarding what will be shown. We believe Nokia will be launching a new smartphone with the US in mind.

Even though it has not been confirmed Nokia is working on a new flagship, we expect the company to unveil the Nokia EOS, the Windows 8 phone with a 41MP camera and quad-core processor.

We are not sure if Nokia will aim the EOS down a little, to keep the Lumia 925 and 928 flying as the company flagships. If they do release the Nokia EOS with a handful of new high-tier features, we will be impressed.

In recent years Nokia has made little effort to compete with Android on specs, we have yet to see a quad-core Windows 8 phone, although the reasoning for that is Windows 8 phone does not currently run quad-core devices.

With this new update to Windows 8 phone coming soon, it will allow partners to change the devices and boost them, hopefully beyond the capabilities of Android, although we suspect they will run the same chip as high-end Android phone makers.

The all metal design on the Nokia 925 was something to be impressed about, we hope this carries over to the Nokia EOS. The Nokia tablet may also be unveiled, after months of rumours.
