What's This?

Rumour has it Samsung will be releasing more than one version of the Galaxy S4, to make sure all their consumers are satisfied with the design of the smartphone.

The South Korean electronics giant got scared when noticing the excitement for the HTC One worldwide, while the Galaxy S4 received some criticism for not doing enough.

This may have prompted them to go back into the workshop and make some basic changes to the outside design of the Galaxy S4, and the company may unveil two new version of the device.

Active

This will be the rugged version of the Galaxy S4, to compete with Sony’s Xperia Z. The company will develop the Galaxy S4 to be completely resistant to water, dust and marks.

Some tradeoffs will have to happen to make this move possible, including the Galaxy S4 display and camera quality. This has happened with the Xperia Z.

Aluminium

Still without a name, this version of the Galaxy S4 will have a premium build and will debut Samsung’s move away from all plastic design.

The company has previously touted the plastic design as one of Samsung’s key features, but the consumers don’t seem to find the cheap looking phones very exciting in a market of top quality devices.

We believe the company will stick some different components in and may even call this the successor to the Galaxy S4, it should be coming out sometime late 2013.

Samsung’s changed position

Even though the company is celebrating huge sales, at 70 million per quarter and $6 billion net profit, it may be the time to move away from their current model.

Samsung need to start making product that work well and look good, as the HTC One, iPhone 5, Nokia Lumia 920 and BlackBerry Z10 all work well in their own way.
