What's This?

Samsung’s wide selection of smart TVs and displays knows no boundaries, and the company once again expanded its lineup with the new 37-inch ViewFinity S8, which Samsung is marketing as a display that’s aimed towards professionals and creatives. The company says that the new model is designed to boost productivity with an optimized display size for multitasking, improved readability, and a more immersive work experience.

That being said, Samsung’s new 37-inch display joins its existing 32 and 43-inch options, filling a gap in the market with a “just right” size, so to speak. Like most modern displays it comes with a 16:9 aspect ratio, and also features a pretty sharp UHD resolution, which essentially gives users a bit more screen real estate (at least when compared to the 32-inch model) without sacrificing detail. As such, the new ViewFinity S8 features enhanced text readability, and the larger screen makes text appear bigger and easier to read, which should come in handy for most work scenarios.

Samsung says that the monitor is also designed with user comfort in mind, with certification as an Ergonomic Workspace Display from TÜV Rheinland; likewise, its Intelligent Eye Care feature includes an eye saver mode to reduce blue light and flicker, that in theory should minimize eye strain during long workdays. Samsung is confident that the S8’s screen size should be ideal for multitasking, especially with workflows that require multiple windows open all at once.

The ViewFinity S8 also makes it easy to connect and control multiple devices. There’s a built-in KVM switch that lets users manage up to two devices with a single set of peripherals, while Picture-by-Picture (PBP) and Picture-in-Picture (PIP) modes enable advanced multitasking. For example, PBP mode lets users display content from a laptop and a smartphone on the same screen, and there’s also connectivity via a USB-C port and built-in LAN port, with support for 90W charging, data transfer, and Ethernet connectivity all at once.

Setting up the monitor is quick as well, with an “Easy Setup Stand” that doesn’t require any tools and can be assembled in under a minute. The monitor also features a height-adjustable stand (HAS) with tilt and swivel functions, so users can easily customize the screen’s position to fit custom desk setups and reduce neck and back strain.
