Samsung has finally announced the new edition of the Galaxy S4, called ‘Active’, the company has made the handset for people who love the outdoors and don’t want their phone breaking after a tumble or water spillage.
The Galaxy S4 Active runs on a quad-core 1.9GHz processor and 2GB of RAM and it has the same whopping 443 pixels per inch as the original GS4. It comes with 16GB of onboard storage, but there is room for expansion through a microSD card.
Samsung has added a new mode to the Galaxy S4 camera called ‘Aqua Mode’, this allows the user to take better photos with the 8MP shooter underwater. The phone is waterproof and can resist 30 minutes of water at 1M depth.
The redesign has three keys on the phone, instead of one with two software keys. This is another small change to make the phone better equip for travelling and will work better with gloves.
The Galaxy S4 Active will come in three different colours, Urban Grey, Dive Blue and Orange Flare. The phone will be available in the US and Sweden this summer and will come to other markets soon.
