It’s been quite an action-packed week with new tech launches all over, with big names all around—we’ve gotten shiny new toys from brands like Samsung, DJI, and Sony and more, from smartphones all the way down to drones, headphones, and more. So just before the week comes back in, here’s a quick recap of all the tech goodness over the past few days.
Meet Samsung’s Slimmest Phone: The Galaxy S25 Edge

Samsung recently unveiled the Galaxy S25 Edge, its slimmest smartphone yet at 5.8mm and 163 grams, which comes with a large 6.7-inch AMOLED display. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with a thinner vapour chamber, the phone features a dual-camera system with a 200MP main sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. The S25 Edge runs Android 15 with One UI 7, although one big caveat is that its slim size has resulted in a smaller 3,900 mAh battery, a head-scratcher given that the phone starts at $1,099.99.
Sony Keeps Things Familiar with the New Xperia 1 VII

Sony also launched its new Xperia 1 VII, which maintains a similar design to its predecessor with a 6.5-inch 120Hz OLED display, IP68 water resistance, Gorilla Glass Victus protection, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and enhanced dual speakers. The phone also comes with a triple-camera system which includes a 48MP main lens, a 12MP telephoto lens, and a new 12MP ultrawide lens with a larger sensor, complemented by AI-powered features and a dedicated two-stage shutter button. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, it houses a 5,000mAh battery with 30W charging and runs Android 15 with a near-stock UI, starting at €1,499.
DJI Finally Unveils the Mavic 4 Pro

Priced starting €2,100, DJI’s new Mavic 4 Pro drone packs a lot of features tailored for pros and content creators. This includes a 360° Infinity Gimbal with a 70° upward tilt and a triple-camera array, which consists of a 100MP Hasselblad primary camera with a Four Thirds sensor and adjustable aperture, a 48MP medium telephoto, and an upgraded 50MP long telephoto lens, all supporting 10-bit color profiles and capturing high-resolution HDR video up to 6K/60fps. The drone is also capable of up to 51 minutes of flight time, a top speed of 90km/h, an extended 41km O4+ transmission range, and omnidirectional obstacle avoidance.
The OnePlus Pad 2 Pro is Official, but There’s a Big Catch

Up next we have the OnePlus Pad 2 Pro, a terrific tablet that’s unfortunately only exclusive to China (at the moment at least). With a starting price around £330, the tablet features a 13.2-inch 144Hz LCD display, a sleek aluminium design in Deep Sea Blue and Glacier Silver, and a large 12,410 mAh battery with 67W charging. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and available in configurations up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, there’s also a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, with Android 15 running things behind the scenes.
The Sony WH-1000XM6 Headphones are Finally Here

In addition to the Xperia 1 VII, Sony also introduced its new WH-1000XM6 wireless headphones, which come with quite a ton of features built within. The XM6 features the HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3, a 12-microphone system, and Multi Noise Sensor Technology for adaptive noise cancellation. Sony has also included a 30mm driver, Hi-Res Audio support and DSEE Extreme upscaling, with up to 30 hours of battery life with a 3-minute quick charge providing three hours of playback. Additional features include 360 Upmix, Game EQ, Adaptive Sound Control, Speak to Chat, and six AI-powered beamforming microphones with AI Noise Reduction for clear calls.
The Huawei Watch 5 is Official, and it’s as Premium as it Gets

Finally we have the Huawei Watch 5, which is available in 46mm and 42mm sizes with premium looks all over. Huawei’s new wearable range costs £399, although you do get a ton of great features including bright LTPO 2.0 AMOLED touchscreens (1.5″ and 1.38″ respectively) peaking at 3,000 nits, as well as Huawei’s X-TAP sensor which contains ECG, PPG, and motion-sensing hardware. Battery life is rated up to 4.5 days (11 in battery-saver) for the larger model and three days (seven in battery-saver) for the smaller one, running on Harmony OS with over 100 workout modes and customizable watch faces.
