What's This?

Xiaomi has once again unveiled a new batch of smartphones, which succeed last year’s Redmi Note 11 series. The new devices are part of the Redmi Note 12 device range, and consist of the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 12 5G, and Redmi Note 12. Xiaomi also announced a new wearable alongside the phones, in the form of the Redmi Watch 3. Let’s check out what they have to offer!

Redmi Watch 3

First up is the Redmi Watch 3, which features some nice design upgrades over the Redmi Watch 2. The wearable comes with 1.75-inch AMOLED display, as well as a polished metal build that trumps the Redmi Watch 2, which had a polycarbonate construction. Buyers can get the watch in black and ivory variants as well.

Other features of the watch include hundreds of swappable watch faces, and your usual array of fitness tracking features including GPS functionality, lood oxygen monitoring, heart rate and sleep tracking. Of course, its also designed for active usage, and comes with 121 sports modes, 5ATM waterproof rating, and a battery that can supposedly last up to 12 days of usage on a single charge. The watch will cost EUR 199.

Redmi Note 12 Series

As for the new phones, we have the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G and Redmi Note 12 Pro, which form the more “premium” pair of the bunch. The two phones feature 6.67-inch AMOLED screens which come with support for 120hz refresh rates, and are powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 1080 chipset, a decent choice given the price range that the new phones hope to take over.

Other similarities between the two phones include face unlock and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, dual speakers, 16MP front cameras for video calls and selfies, 5000 mAh batteries, as well as 3.5mm audio jacks for wired headphones. The two devices will be available in three different colour variants, which include Midnight Black, Polar White, and Sky Blue variants.

As for what sets the two phones apart, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G’s comes with a camera set-up that includes a 200MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and 2MP macro camera, and support for 120W fast-charging, with a single 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 12 Pro’s camera set-up includes a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera and 2MP macro camera, slightly slower 67W fast-charging support, and a base model storage and RAM configuration beginning at 6GB+128GB.

Up next are the Redmi Note 12 5G and Redmi Note 12, which are the more “affordable” phones of the bunch. Similar to the Pro models, the regular Note 12 phones do feature some similarities. Like the first two devices, both phones also come with 6.67-inch AMOLED displays with 120hz refresh rates, although they do feature slightly lower 13MP front cameras.

Other details include 5000 mAh batteries with slower 33W fast-charging, 3.5mm headphone jacks, as well as support for face and fingerprint unlock. The Note 12 5G comes with a Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset, although the Note 12 features a Snapdragon 685 chip inside.

As for other hardware specs, there’s triple-lens setup which includes a 48MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and 2MP macro camera set-up for the Note 12 5G, while the non-5G variant will have a 50MP wide camera, 8MP ultra-wide camera, and 2MP macro camera array. Additionally, the Note 12 Pro starts with a 4GB+128GB storage configuration, while the regular 12 will be available in a 4GB+64GB base model.

in terms of colour variants, the Redmi Note 12 5G will be available in Onyx Gray, Forest Green, and Ice Blue, while the Redmi Note 12 comes in Onyx Gray, Mint Green, and Ice Blue. As for price, the Redmi Note 12 Pro+5G starts at EUR 499, while the Redmi Note 12 Pro 5G starts at EUR 399, and the Redmi Note 12 5G starts at EUR 299, while the Redmi Note 12 starts at EUR 199.
