BOWDEN + SHEFFIELD Minimalist iPad Cases: Style, Safety and Productivity all in one!
When I look for a new case for my iPad 2, it’s so vital that the case allows me to keep the slick iPad design. It needs to provide safety and style; looking at the kickstarter project, I thought it was just another case then I saw this picture:
I would assume that any manufacturer’s number one priority is to create a product that would not only protect your iPad but having a case that would add to your every day productivity is another thing; it has a whiteboard area to have your sketches and never miss any ideas that drops in your head on the move.
The designers Eric and Levi named their product after their family; Sheffield comes from Eric’s family tree while Bowden and Palmer come from Levi’s. Naming a product after something so important to you means you are proud of it.
The Bowden is milled from aircraft-grade aluminum, bead-blasted and hard-anodized for a long-lasting finish whilst the Sheffield is precision cut from 100% natural wool felt, which is incredibly strong and also wicks away liquids.
The leather used is of high grade quality and will wear naturally with time, giving it that natural old look as time goes by. The felt cover can also be used as a stand when you need to type, surf the web, or anything else.
They both come equipped with a magnetic closure system to keep your iPad securely in place at all times. The lining is ultra-soft felt flocking that actually cleans your screen as it goes in and out of the case and to top it up, it’s compatible with smart cover.
It is a kickstarter project, which means we won’t get to see it unless you help back the project and whilst writing this up, it’s currently at 43% with 14 days to go. Although you can back from as little as $1, backing from $50 will speed up the funding.
