What's This?

As far as midrange Android phones are concerned, there’s a pretty large market to choose from especially for buyers outside of North America, with brands such as Oppo, Xiaomi, and Vivo each flooding the market with countless handsets. Speaking of the latter, Vivo recently added a new entry to its roster with the new V60, a midrange phone which combines some surprisingly-good hardware at a reasonable price that doesn’t break the bank.

One of the V60’s biggest selling points is its camera setup, which features a triple-sensor system for the main camera module on the rear panel. It’s not uncommon for smartphone manufacturers to work with camera brands, and this is exactly what Vivo has done for the V60, which comes with cameras developed in collaboration with Zeiss. 50MP main camera, a 50MP telephoto camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera on its rear, with a 50MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

Going over to the front, you’ll find a large 6.77-inch display with an AMOLED panel. It’s considerably sharp thanks to its 2392×1080 pixel resolution, and also features a 120Hz refresh rate and 5,000 nits of peak brightness, which should make for a pleasing and immersive user experience especially for content consumption and gaming. It’s available in a handful of different colour options, including grey, blue and gold, and also features IP68/IP69 dust and water protection.

In terms of performance, the phone is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, a midrange chip that should be more than capable of handling day-to-day usage, and we wouldn’t doubt its gaming chops either. The V60 is also available in different RAM and storage configurations, starting at 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, with a variant that tops out at 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. For software you’re getting Android 15 alongside Vivo’s proprietary Funtouch OS 15 skin, along with up up to four years of major Android version updates (with six years of security patches).

The Vivo V60 is also equipped with a large battery inside—you’re getting a massive 6,500 mAh capacity cell, alongside 90W charging support that should prove useful in situations where you need to top-up your battery but don’t have much time to spare. The phone is now available for pre-order in India (around £320 when converted), and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that it soon makes its way to more markets worldwide.
