What's This?

2025 has been a pretty busy year for Chinese tech giant Xiaomi. The company launched several heavy-hitting devices including the Xiaomi 17 series, 15T Pro series, as well as two generations of POCO F devices, all within a single year. That said, the phones just keep on coming, and this time it’s the new Redmi Note 15 Pro+ that’s made its debut. The phone isn’t exactly brand new though, having been launched for Chinese markets earlier on; nevertheless, let’s take a look at this one!

Starting with the display, the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ comes with a large 6.83-inch AMOLED screen that slightly curves at the edges, similar to older smartphones which used 2.5D displays. It’s also protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2, which isn’t often seen on more affordable midrange smartphones. Other features include a 120Hz refresh rate, a 2772 x 1280 pixel resolution, and up to 3200 nits of peak brightness. The display also houses a built-in fingerprint sensor, and even comes with a pre-installed screen film.

Being that this is a Redmi phone, it does use plastic in its chassis, which can be felt around the sides. For the rear panel, Xiaomi says that it’s used fibreglass material which should fare better against cracks unlike glass-backed phones, similar to the Xiaomi 15T Pro. In fact, the company is marketing the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ with its new “Redmi Titan Durability” build, which includes IP69K dust and water protection, as well as better resistance against most knocks and bumps.

Inside, the phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset, along with up to 12GB of RAM and different storage options which max out at 512GB. For software, it comes with Hyper OS 2 on top of Android 15, and we can expect the phone to get Xiaomi’s Hyper OS 3 update soon. With that said though, this also means that the phone comes with a lot of pre-installed apps from Xiaomi and other third-party developers (a lot of these can be uninstalled though).

For cameras, Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ with a 200MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide camera, while there’s a 32MP selfie camera in front. Powering this entire setup is a 6500mAh battery which can charge at up to 100W, as long as you’re using a compatible charger. There’s no word on pricing at the moment, but we can expect this to be among the more affordable of Xiaomi’s product range.
