What's This?

Edifier’s expertise within the wireless audio market segment is impressive, and the manufacturer recently expanded its lineup with the launch of its new ES Series, which includes the ES20, ES60, and ES300 speakers, as well as the ES850NB over-ear headphones. According to the Edifier, the “ES” branding stands for “Elegant” and “Superb”, and “Edifier Sound.” The new products also come with a more retro-inspired look, in contrast to the rest of Edifier’s hardware lineup.

First up is the Edifier ES300 Desktop Combo Speaker, which features a handcrafted wooden casing with synthetic leather accents and a metallic control panel. The ES300 packs dual 1.25-inch silk dome tweeters and a 4-inch mid-bass driver with 60W RMS of power through dual Class-D amplifiers. Edifier has also included its MazeTube and TurbMuff technologies, which the company says are designed to enhance bass depth and minimize noise. The ES300 supports high-resolution audio up to 24-bit/96kHz, dual-band Wi-Fi and Apple AirPlay 2 for streaming and multi-room connectivity, and includes USB-A and AUX inputs. It also features a built-in lighting system with multiple effects and colours.

For something a bit more compact, Edifier’s ES60 comes in a more travel-friendly size along with dual 22mm tweeters, an oval mid-bass driver with neodymium magnets, and a passive radiator. The ES60 uses Bluetooth 5.4 with stereo pairing and multipoint support, and battery life of up to nine hours of playback and USB-C charging. Other features include a built-in microphone for calls, ambient lighting effects and compatibility with the Edifier ConneX app for a bit of added settings tweaks.

If you’d still prefer something even smaller, the new ES series also includes the ES20 Bluetooth Speaker, which packs a 43mm driver with neodymium magnets and a 55mm passive bass radiator, wrapped in a design with an IP67 dust and water resistance rating. The ES20 also comes with up to 15 hours of continuous playback, and connectivity via Bluetooth 5.4 with stereo pairing and multi-point connection, and even a built-in microphone for calls. Like the other new speakers, the ES20 also includes ambient lighting effects and Edifier ConneX app support.

Finally, we have the Edifier ES850NB Wireless Headphones—the headphones are Hi-Res Audio certified and feature 40mm titanium-coated drivers with support for LDAC, AAC, and SBC codecs. Like most newer headphones these days, they also come with active noise cancellation (up to -45dB), and offer up to a rather-impressive 92 hours of battery life. Other features include touch-to-chat functionality, multipoint connectivity, and control via the Edifier ConneX app and TempoHub.
