What's This?

The LG G Watch and Moto 360 are the only two announced Android Wear devices coming in Summer this year, even though the HTC One Wear has been leaked and other partners like Samsung and ASUS are also preparing some sort of wearable.

Following people testing out the LG G Watch, a new link dump has happened showing the specifications for the watch, some of the details on the watch, new Google Now images and some background images for the smartwatch.

Interestingly, the LG G Watch codename is called Dory. This ties into Google Nexus codename’s almost always being about fish. The LG G Watch might be a “Nexus” smartwatch and the Android Wear de-facto, even if the Moto 360 is a more hyped device.

The Nexus program is set to stop in 2015 and we do believe Android Silver will become the new way for Google to show good standards in hardware and software development on Android, instead of making their own device as a template.

The LG G Watch is running Android 4.4W, the W we expect stands for Wear and this is a new version of Android, built entirely around the smaller display and the circular display. Google has already added a new SDK full of tools for developers to try out, we expect an Android apps store for wearables once the platform is released.

Google Now will play a big part of Android Wear, users will interact with notifications through voice recognition and the main-screen will either show a background image or a Google Now notification. It looks like Google has added some new illustrations for notifications. like packages, flights, birthdays, places nearby, steps and more.

This came with the link dump and the full album is available over at Phandroid, along with a few new backgrounds coming to Android Wear.
