What's This?

Logitech’s impressive selection of computer accessories ranks as among some of the best gear that you can get on the market, and this of course includes its MX-series mice. More recently, the company unveiled the MX Master 4, a wireless mouse that’s designed for creative professionals, developers, and business users. One key feature this year is the addition of haptic feedback, something that we don’t usually on mice.

As for its design, Logitech hasn’t strayed too much from the design of the MX Master 3 and 3s. In fact, you might even mistake it for the older model at first glance, although that’s not to say that the company completely reused the exact same design, as seen with the new haptic feedback mechanism. Logitech says that the MX Master 4 is constructed using enhanced stain-resistant materials with a minimum of 48% certified post-consumer recycled plastic, a low-carbon aluminium thumbwheel, and a battery with 100% recycled cobalt. Speaking of the latter, the battery supports USB-C Quick Charging with up to 70 days of use on a full charge.

Logitech states that the addition of haptic feedback allows for tactile vibrations when performing actions such as scrolling and selection. Users can also access a complementary software feature which Logitech dubs Actions Ring, and is accessible via the Logi Options+ app—according to the company, Actions Ring offers app-specific shortcuts and customizable controls, and on paper can save professionals up to 33% of their time and reduce repetitive mouse movements by 63% when automating functions in programs like Excel or Photoshop, for example.

The MX Master 4 uses a high-performance chip and antenna that builds on the connectivity strength of previous models, although Logitech is also offering a USB-C dongle for more tried-and-tested pairing across different devices, in addition to built-in Multi-Device Pairing. The mouse includes an 8,000 DPI sensor for tracking on different surface types including glass, and there’s also a MagSpeed Scroll Wheel that can scroll up to 1,000 lines per second, and Logitech adds that it’s 90% quieter than the MX Master 3 when it comes to clicks.
