What's This?

While 2024 is looking to be chock-full of different consumer tech events, the Consumer Electronics Showcase (CES) in Las Vegas is the one big event that starts off the year, with a ton of different manufacturers and brands all showing off the latest and greatest from their roster. With that said, Razer is of course in no mood to play catch up, and the company recently announced that it will be showing off the upcoming Razer Blade 16 and 18 during CES 2024.

Razer Blade 16

First up is the Razer Blade 16, which according to Razer features the world’s first 240Hz 16-inch OLED display, which was engineered alongside Samsung. Speaking on the partnership, Hojung Lee, Head of the Mobile Display Product Planning Team at Samsung states:

“We are thrilled to collaborate with Razer on the 2024 Blade 16, bringing the first ever OLED 240Hz 16” display to the gaming world. This innovative display not only showcases our commitment to advancing OLED technology but also marks a significant milestone in gaming display evolution.”

In addition to the high refresh rate, the Blade 16’s display also packs a 0.2ms response time for higher hit rates and reduced trigger times, a sufficiently-sharp 2560×1600 pixel resolution, as well as 1M:1 contrast ratio and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. The laptop also comes encased in the signature slim chassis as with the rest of the Razer Blade series, along with built-in RGB lighting functionality.

Razer Blade 18

With the Razer Blade 18, Razer is also setting a new “first” with a screen configuration that according to the company is the world’s first 4K-resolution 18-inch display with a 165Hz refresh rate. The Blade 18 sits at the top of Razer’s laptop offerings, and also features NVIDIA G-Sync support as well as 3ms response time, up to 100% DCI-P3 colour space, which covers 25% more versus the standard sRGB colour space. Travis Furst, Head of the Notebook and Accessories Division at Razer comments:

“We are incredibly excited to unveil these world-first display technologies at CES 2024. The collaboration with Samsung Display on the Blade 16 and our commitment to delivering the best visual experience with the Blade 18 represent a new era in gaming laptops.”

Other Details

With all that being said, Razer hasn’t fully disclosed additional details about the new laptops including pricing and regional availability for example. Additionally, other info such as in-depth hardware specs are currently a secret (at least officially), although the company says that it will unveil all there is to know about the Blade 16 and Blade 18 once CES 2024 opens its doors. Until then, fans and interested buyers will have to be a bit more patient.
