What's This?

If you’re in the UK and are looking to try out a new mid-range smartphone from Honor, then you’re in luck – the former Huawei sub-brand has finally announced that the Honor 90 Lite is now available for buyers in the United Kingdom, with competitive pricing meant to take on contenders from Nokia, Motorola, and more. What exactly does it come with? Let’s find out.

Design, Screen

While the Honor 90 Lite’s biggest appeal mostly revolves around its affordability, the phone makes an effort to shine in terms of design. Available in black, cyan and silver, the handset bears a resemblance to other Android phones which are more than twice its price. The 90 Lite features flat edges which house the volume and fingerprint scanner, USB-C port and speakers, which surround the phone’s slim bezel.

The front of the phone is dominated by a 6.7-inch IPS display with a 1080 x 2388 pixel resolution, complete with a 90Hz refresh rate. The continued improvement of screen technology on cheaper phones is a much-welcome change over the past few years, and it’s definitely nice to see it on the Honor 90 Lite.

Internal Specs and Cameras

The phone is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 6020 chipset, a midrange SoC which comes with 256GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM. The phone does ship with Android 13, although this is layered with Honor’s Magic UI, a proprietary Android interface. This means that users will get a uniquely-flavoured version of Android, with access to Honor’s exclusive apps and software services. There’s also a 4500 mAh battery inside with support for 35W fast-charging speeds, which should be plenty enough for most moderate users.

For optics, the Honor 90 Lite packs a rear 100MP Main Camera with f/1.9 aperture, which is aided by your usual combo of a 5MP ultra-wide camera and 2MP macro camera. The handset’s screen houses a 16MP front camera for video calls and selfies. Video recording is a bit limited though, maxing out at 1080p resolution at 30 fps.

Price and Availability

The Honor 90 Lite will be available in three different colours including Cyan Lake, Titanium Silver, and Midnight Black. For buyers in the UK, the HONOR 90 Lite will be available from HiHonor and via retail partners Argos, Amazon, Very and Currys beginning on 5th July at £249.99. For Three customers, the Honor 90 Lite will be available towards the end of July, while buyers who grab the handset via HiHonor from today until the 4th July will be able to select an Honor Band 7 or Earbuds X5 as part of a freebie bundle.
