What's This?

The recent comeback of portable gaming consoles has somewhat seen an increase in terms of new hardware over the past couple of years, with powerful devices like the Steam Deck gaining a popular following thanks to powerful on-the-go gaming features. Of course, competing devices like the Nintendo Switch come with built-in docking functions, allowing gamers to play either on TVs or in handheld mode – a defining feature which we’ve also witnessed the Steam Deck adopt in its own way.

With that said, if you have a Steam Deck handheld or are planning to get one for yourself, then you might want to check put Ugreen’s new USB-C Docking station for the Steam Deck, which comes with a nice variety of features designed for docked gameplay on bigger screens, and plays nicely with different accessories that you might already have.

Priced at around £45.99 for buyers in the UK (with a current offer on Amazon for £37.99), the docking station can easily connect your Steam Deck to compatible monitors at various resolutions and refresh rates, which means you don’t lose out on quality should you decide to continue your gaming session on a much larger display. Ugreen adds that this flexibility lets users experience a more smooth and immersive gaming experience.

The dock also comes with built-in multiple connectivity and additional fast charging support, with multi–USB A & C extended ports, a data transmission speed of up to 5gbps, connectivity to external accessories including mice, keyboards, game controllers, and other devices as well. Since the Steam Deck does come with support for a more “traditional” desktop gaming approach, the added connectivity for wireless PC accessories is a much-welcome funtionality.

In terms of hardware, the dock comes with support for 4K/60Hz, 2K/144Hz, and 1080P/240Hz displays, two USB 3.0 ports and a single USB C port. The dock also comes with a Gigabit Ethernet port for faster game download speeds, and support for 100W PD full-speed charging support, which can charge the Steam Deck during gaming sessions.

In terms of design, the dock comes with an all-aluminium stand design that fits the Steam Deck perfectly, with specially designed silicone pads that prevent the Steam Deck from sliding around while docked, and provides some space for the cooling vents. It’s a bit different in size when compared to something like the Nintendo Switch dock, but outperforms the latter thanks to the different ports available for use. The Ugreen Steam Deck Docking Station is now available on Amazon for buyers in the UK and US.
