What's This?

Xiaomi’s been rather busy lately—in fact, the tech giant’s made a ton of big announcements this week alone, which cover several products including new tablets and smartphones. Speaking of the latter, the company unveiled its new 15T series smartphones, which come with some pretty impressive features that are designed to keep budgets in check, without compromising too much on hardware. We’re of course talking about the Xiaomi 15T and 15T Pro, which fall under Xiaomi’s upper-midrange “T” series devices.

Much like the Xiaomi Pad 8 tablets, the 15T series phones come with a number of similarities in terms of design. One obvious example is the display hardware—both the 15T and 15T Pro feature large 6.83-inch AMOLED screens protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, with the same 1280×2772 pixel resolution. There’s a slight difference however, as the 15T Pro comes with a smoother 144Hz refresh rate, a considerable difference from the 120Hz on the standard 15T.

As for performance, both phones are powered by MediaTek chipsets, although with slight differences as well. The Xiaomi 15T is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultra, while the more expensive 15T Pro comes with a Dimensity 9400+ processor, which does pack a slight boost in overall performance. Both models are available in storage and memory configurations starting at 256GB and 12GB of RAM. It should be noted though that the two devices come with a slightly-older Android version (15 to be precise), with Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2 skin on top.

The Xiaomi 15T series also share the same battery capacity, with a 5500 mAh capacity cell inside. The charging speeds do differ though, as the standard 15T supports 67W fast charging, while the 15T Pro does get things done faster thanks to 90W charging support.

As for cameras, both phones come with a triple-lens rear setup and 32MP front-facing selfie cameras. The standard Xiaomi 15T features a 50 MP main sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, a 50 MP telephoto lens with an f/1.9 aperture, and a 12 MP ultrawide lens in the mix as well. The Xiaomi 15T Pro does up its game with a dedicated 50MP periscope lens, which works alongside a 50 MP main camera, and a 12 MP ultrawide lens. They’re priced at £549 for the Xiaomi 15T, and £649 for the 15T Pro.
