What's This?

For the longest time since the early days of Android, a lot of Google-powered tablets have had a reputation of being inferior when compared to rival devices from Apple, although things have now thankfully changed—in fact, we’re seeing a considerable increase of high-powered Android tablets on the market from the likes of OnePlus and Lenovo, and this time around it’s Honor that’s looking to make waves with its newest tablet, the Honor Pad GT2 Pro.

One big highlight of the GT2 Pro is that it’s powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip from Qualcomm. Yes, we know—it’s not the latest and greatest chip from the company, and while it’s eclipsed in performance by the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite, the 8 Gen 3 is still a powerful and capable processor in its own right. This essentially means that you’ll be able to run most games on the GT2 Pro, including graphically-intensive titles like Genshin Impact, for examples. There’s also up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage within the tablet, making it ideal for a bit of productivity as well.

Given its midrange status, there were bound to be some compromises with the tablet—for one, it lacks an AMOLED display, with Honor instead opting to use a 12.5-inch IPS LCD screen on this one. It remains sharp though with a 3000×1920 pixel resolution, and a pretty smooth 165Hz refresh rate, something that’s not commonly seen on most tablets. For software, the tablet runs on Android 15 with Honor’s proprietary Magic OS 9, which comes pre-installed with exclusive Honor apps and third-party software.

Powering the tablet is a massive 10,100 mAh battery with support for 66W wired charging speeds, which should be able to keep up with the processing demands of the large display and powerful chipset. Other details include an eight-speaker system for entertainment and audio, your usual single + selfie camera setup, and support for the Honor Pencil 3. It is available in two different colours including gray and white, and will retail for around 300 EUR once it launches this month.

In other Honor news, the company also announced the Honor X70, which joins several other models under its X-series lineup. While it does come with a modest Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip, the X70 is marketed as more of a durable budget-friendly phone, with IP69 dust and water resistance, as well as a massive 8,300 mAh battery.
